Letter from our Associate Principal

Guest Family

It is my great honor to serve as the Associate Principal of Thoreau for the fourth year. My educational passion centers on building strong relationships with students and families. Students who have a strong sense of belonging and ownership in their learning have limitless potential! This year I am excited to support our teachers and students as they explore their learning, especially with our new math curriculum!

My own educational journey started in the Lake Washington School District where I graduated from Redmond High School and then went on to Western Washington University. During my time as a teacher, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from City University and my National Board Teaching Certificate in Early Literacy. Most recently, I earned my masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Washington Bothell.

I live on Finn Hill with my husband and two sons where we enjoy playing backyard pickleball and floating on the lake as often as possible. This fall marks the beginning of our empty nest as both of our boys will be at Gonzaga. Go Zags!
